2009 Rochester Hunt Group

ALL FINAL PAYMENTS DUE TO ME BY OCTOBER 5th.....NO EXCEPTIONS AS I NEED TO PAY DEAN.

Only note - Cory and his men would like to have a group hunt on Sunday following Turkey Day.....Myself and my father plan to hunt that Fri/Sat and not Sunday already, if anyone else outside of Cory's men knows now they won't be hunting that day please let me know ASAP....this day would generate $180-240 in funds for next year depending on open seats.

Hunt Dates:

Please let me know 5 days ahead of time if you wish to hunt a date, otherwise after that all available seats will be filled with non-members.  I will keep track of who is hunting when on this page - Hunting Dates

If you know you won't be hunting a certain date please let me know ASAP so I can plan in advance to fill those seats to generate some revenue for next season.

Field Info:

West Field

• We have this field EVEN days on the calendar.
• West Field Location - maps.google.com/maps It is the 1/4 section to the SE corner of the intersection on the map, the field enterance is on the west side of the field off of 70th ave.
• This year it is beans and will be harvested but not plowed.
• 12 man pit - You must bring your own heater if you want one, I also recommend throwing in a comfortable chair...same height as a 5-gallon pail is best.
• Buzzer system with switch in middle pit.
• Pit lids have screens with corn stubble attached, callers must have camo....white is a must once snow is on the ground(if you have washed your whites with laundry detergent they are worthless as they give off UV and you now glow in the snow in the eyes of the birds.) 
• IMPORTANT - There is a new horse barn in the field next to ours to the east of us.  We MUST take care not to shoot in that direction, it is not that hard to do with decoy placement and smart shooting.  The pits are 500' away from the property line, and probably 800'-900' away from the barn itself so doing damage is not a issue, but if we rain them with pellets we will probably get a visit from the law.  We must inform them prior to hunting the field so they do not have horses in that pasture, I will do this through Dean whenever we hunt.  If your going down I must be aware of it so I can make this call, otherwise we do have issues.

North and NW Fields

• We have these fields ODD days on the Calendar.
• North Field Location - Coming soon

• Both fields have 14 man pits - You must bring your own heater if you want one, I also recommend throwing in a comfortable chair......same height as a 5 gallon pail is best.

• Pit Clean-up, These pits are shared with two other guides.....Please clean-up 100% of trash in pits when we are done.

Hunt info

• Respect the buzzer man - Every day someone will be blessed to run the buzzer to call the shot, this person is also in control of the field....personally I do not care who it is, but someone needs to do it.  Please do not shoot unless this person calls the shot, it is the only way to ensure a safe hunting environment. 
• Equipment - As of right now we have a ton of guys with trailers full of decoys, I will try to best handle who is bring what as there is no need to drag 100 dozen decoys down to Rochester unless we need to.  It is fun to do ONE big decoy spread a year.  
• Calling - We need to work this out as a group as we can have 10 guys sounding like 10 geese, but we can't have 10 guys sounding like a thousand geese......my best hunt last year in Rochester was a day we all put our calls in our pockets and sat on our hands and killed 20 geese....go figure.  Calling can hurt you as much as it can help you.  If everyone walks instead of trying to run we won't have an issue.
• During the week hunting - We will try to limit this to ONE day during the week due to the fact that if someone is hunting every day it will make the hunts on the weekend not as productive when most of us are going to hunt.  I would like to limit hunting to Thur-Sun as much as possible....but will work with it case by case, just let me know if you want to hunt Mon-Wed.

Extra Spots - Bring a friend with

• From time to time we will have open seats in the field, if you want to bring someone please call me prior to the hunt and I will call around to see who is and is not going. 
• Cost is $30 on weekends and $15 on week days(Mon-Thur).  We can work out other deals if say you want to take 10 guys down on a Wed......probably say throw $100 into the pot.
• All Money will be held by myself or Bill until the end of the year, at this point we will decide if we want to do this the following year.  If this is the case we will use it as a down payment to Dean for the field next year.  If anyone does not want to participate again we will payout your portion to you.

Who is who? - this is the list of who is part of the group and their info, I am sure you don't know everyone but I only took guys that I have hunted with in the past and are friends....not sure if that is good for you all or not???  LOL

• I started a list of names/phone numbers, then figured some of you might not want those on the net?  I will email out a list to everyone once I get everyone's email..

Problems in the field

If at anytime you have an issue with how something is going or if someone is doing something you dislike please let me know....even if it something I am doing to piss you off.  I will keep all this to myself and try fix the problem to the best of my ability, if someone is simply not working out with the group the other members will have to decide as a whole to keep that person as part of the group.

I do not think we will have any issues as I know most of you, but I would like this to work and continue working for the future, any time you get a group of people together there may be issues.  Feel free to speak up at any time as we are all equals in this.
